Professional Photographers of North Dakota MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
1.Name: Poppy Mills - PPND President 2.Age: 30 3. Business Name: Fowler Photography 4. Years in Photography Our studio has been around for 27 years, and I have worked here in some capacity all my life! However, I have been the primary photographer for the last 8, fast moving, years. 5. How did you get started in photography? I'd like to say I always had a passion for photography like so many of the photographers that I know, but that would not be true. The truth is, coming from a family owned studio, I resisted photography as long as I could. It wasn't until I was in college and I noticed all of my classes were either photography classes or art related that I could no longer deny the fact that photography was in my blood. I'm so glad it finally found me! 6. What or Who is your biggest photographic influence? There are so many amazing photographers out there that to this day still blow my socks of with their work. I studied a lot of art & design while in school and many of the principles I learned in my non-photographic classes continue to shape the way I shoot. I would have to say that my largest photographic influences, however, are many of the photographers in our local guild that really helped me out and guided me my first few years of business. If it wasn't for them I would not be where I am today. But it is definitely my father who stands out the farthest within this crowd. My only regret is that I wasn't able to learn more from him before he passed. Thank you for everything Dad!
